Overview

Born from the desire to see a revitalized beer brewing tradition in Galena, IL, which was the home of nine breweries back in the 1800's, Warren and Kathy Bell launched the Galena Brewing Company in early 2009.

In the spring of 2009 the Galena Brewing Company started deliveries of its first beer to restaurants and retailers in Galena, Jo Daviess County and Dubuque, IA. This first beer was the Fevre River Ale, a classic Bavarian hefeweizen, which was followed in October 2009 by the Miner's Treasure, a warm caramel amber ale.

While these ales are currently contract brewed to Galena Beer Company recipes, we are also working hard towards the target of opening our own brewery and pub on Main Street in Galena this summer.
